LEED Overview
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
LEED is a program created by the US Green Building Council with the intent to bring better design and building practices to the construction of buildings.
Buildings consume about 40% of our nations energy, both by daily consumption and through the energy embodied into the materials and actual construction of the building.
By paying attention to these attributes, owners, the environment and virtually everyone benefits.
It does cost more to follow a LEED program but the costs are usually recovered quickly through energy and resource savings as well as increased asset value.
